Social Worker for the Crime Prevention Team in Kungälv

Do you want to work closely with young people, be out in their everyday environments, and at the same time help develop the crime prevention work within the municipality? Then this is the right place for you.

Within the crime prevention team, we work proactively with youth in risk environments related to crime, drugs, and other norm-breaking behavior. Functions within the team include SSPF, SIG, support center for young crime victims, youth service, outreach fieldwork, and authority work through preliminary assessments of reports of concern related to norm-breaking behavior. The crime prevention team forms a chain from preventive and outreach work to authority work in the form of assessment of support and planning and implementation of interventions.

Responsibilities

As a social worker in the team, you will work operationally, proactively, and closely with authorities. You will:

• Build relationships with children and youth through fieldwork in schools, outdoor environments, and other places where the target group is present.
• Conduct preliminary assessments of reports of concern related to crime, drugs, or other norm-breaking behavior.
• Perform early support interventions (IUB) and guide individuals and families to the right help within or outside social services.
• Contribute to situational reports, mapping, and knowledge-enhancing efforts regarding crime, norm-breaking behavior, and youth culture.
• Participate in planning and implementation of interventions during high-risk days and other major events.
• Provide individual support to young people and adults in a criminal context who want to make a behavioral change.

Scope and Flexibility of the Assignment:

In the team, social workers are expected to work at all levels – universal, selective, and indicative. Even if you have a primary focus area, no assignments are static.

Qualifications

• Is a social worker or has another relevant education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Thrives in a relationship-building, proactive, and sometimes unpredictable work environment.
• Is comfortable meeting children, youth, and parents.
• Has a good ability to structure work while being flexible.
• Takes initiative, sees the big picture, and values collaboration.
• Has experience from fieldwork, crime prevention work, and knowledge of the target group.
• Is comfortable with preliminary assessments and authority-related tasks.
